ACT Printing Policy

Terms and Conditions

Computer facilities provided for students at TWU have printers that are managed via a credit system. This system is initially configured to allow you to print into a "line of credit" up to $5. All B/W copies are 8 cents per page, AND COLOUR PRINTING IS $0.20 PER PAGE (currently only available in the Library). Be sure to ask a Library Assistant if you are unsure as to which printer you are printing to.

If/when your credit runs out, you will need to prepay for additional printing in increments of $5 or more. There will be no refund at the end of the year, but credit from the fall semester will be carried over to the spring semester. At the end of the spring semester, all credit/debt may be cleared, but most likely will carry over.

Printing credit can be purchased in several ways. 1) with a "TopUp Card" that you purchase from a Grad Collegium CA during open hours, 2) with your credit card from an online secured transaction, or 3) and as a last resort, from either David Friesen (NEU 6) or Joel Schwartz (NEU 22) during the hours of 9am to 5pm weekdays. You will find a shortcut/link in the START menu of all lab computers that utilize this system.

Of course this system makes it important to keep your username and password secret. If you tell a friend your password and he/she logs-in as you and drains your print credit, it will not be there when you need it, and you will have to purchase more. Please also ensure that you log out of the computer when you have finished working on it. If you fail to do so someone else may use your account to print with the charges going to you.

This system means that you will want to be conservative with your printing. Please note that printing duplex will charge you 4 cents per side, meaning two pages of printed text will only come to 8 cents total when duplexed. If you are printing course notes or other longer documents that are not for submission, you might also want to consider printing 4 pages on 1 page. If you would like more information on how you can conserve paper and money, just ask for help.

Return/Refund Policy

Print credit purchased is not refundable.
